Meet J. Ames, JURIST's virtual law professor! Much more than just another talking
head on video, J. Ames is a fully-animated, computer-generated Microsoft
Agent character who interacts with the Web and - like his real-world
colleagues - never lectures the same way twice. With his mustache, high
collar and tie he looks a bit like James
Barr Ames, the late nineteenth century Dean of the Harvard Law School
who became the prototype of the modern full-time academic law teacher. To
see J. Ames in action, follow the instructions on the right-hand side
of this page, then pick a tutorial from the list below. All tutorials
have been designed for 800 x 600 screen resolution. Sorry,
Microsoft Agent will not work with Netscape browsers. 覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧覧

J. Ames requires speakers and a sound card on a computer running Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or higher. J. Ames will not work in Netscape. J. Ames also requires:
1) Microsoft Agent 2.0. Download Microsoft Agent here (MS Agent comes pre-installed with Windows 2000 and Windows ME).
2) the animated character "James", created and produced by La Cantoche Production. Download and install a zipped .exe file of "James" from here. 3) a text-to-speech engine. Download the TruVoice text-to-speech engine here. Once these components are downloaded - and the executables installed - begin by clicking on any tutorial. |
