I have an ethical question about examination copies of textbooks. What is the proper way to dispose of textbooks that were sent by publishers that I no longer have use for? We're all familiar with the "used booksellers" who will cheerfully purchase books (those in current circulation) that they then sell to students. I consider that unethical, but I'm not sure that it's any better to give them to the library or give them to a charitable institution. Is the only ethical solution to destroy them?
