Publisher & Editor-in-Chief

Bernard Hibbitts is JURIST's Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, and a Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. A Canadian Rhodes Scholar born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he studied law at Oxford, Dalhousie Law School, the University of Toronto, and finally Harvard Law School (LLM 1988), where he was Associate Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. He is a former law clerk to Justice Gerald LeDain of the Supreme Court of Canada. He created the site that became JURIST in 1996.

Research Director

JURIST's Research Director is Jaclyn Belczyk. Jaclyn is a 2008 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, from which she holds a JD and a Certificate in Latin American Studies. She also holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Technical Director

JURIST Board Member Jeremiah Lee volunteers his time as Technical Director. He is a 2006 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and holds a BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Executive Director

JURIST's Executive Director is Matthew Shames. Matt is a 2005 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He also holds a BA in American Civilization from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining JURIST, Matt practiced for six years as a corporate attorney with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, P.C. and Cohen & Grigsby, P.C.

Managing Editor

JURIST's Managing Editor is Dwyer Arce, a JD student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Dwyer holds a BS degree in Political Science and Islamic Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also writes and serves as a peer editor for JURIST's Paper Chase service and serves on JURIST's Editorial Board.

Chief of Staff

JURIST's Chief of Staff is Zach Zagger, a JD student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Zach holds a BA degree in Newspaper Journalism, Political Science and History from Syracuse University. He also writes and serves as a peer editor for JURIST's Paper Chase service and serves on JURIST's Editorial Board.
