Ron Brand Tours and Speaks in China
Professor Ron Brand recently spoke in several fora in China. On Saturday, September 15, 2007, Professor Brand was a speaker at the plenary session of the Global Forum on Private International Law at the 20th anniversary meeting of the China Society of Private International Law at Wuhan University, Wuhan China. His topic was “Changing Competence for Private International Law in Europe.” He also spoke on behalf of foreign participants at the Closing Ceremony of the Conference and participated in the signing of the Wuhan Declaration adopted by the CSPIL to mark its 20th anniversary and chart a program for the future of the Society. On September 11 and 12, Professor Brand visited the High Court of Justice of Taiwan and the Law Faculties of the Chinese Culture University and Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan. He spoke to students at CCU on “U.S. law and legal education.” On Septembe 12, he spoke to a meeting of the Taiwan Society of Private International Law on the Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements. On September 18, he spoke on “U.S. Law and Legal Education at the China Three Gorges University School of Law in Yichang, China, and on “Legal Education for Foreign Students in the United States” at Wuhan University, Wuhan, China.
