Ron Brand on Jurisdiction in International Litigation
Professor Ron Brand has signed a book contract with Cambridge University Press to write a book with Paul Herrup of the Office of Foreign Litigation, U.S. Department of Justice, on the 2005 Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements. He has also signed a contract with Oxford University Press on behalf of the Center for International Legal Education to publish the CILE Studies series, beginning with volume 3. Volume 3, Forum Non Conveniens: Past, Present, and Future, will be authored by Professor Brand and Scott Jablonski.
Professor Brand’s article, CISG Article 31: When Substantive Law Rules Affect Jurisdictional Results, has been published at 25 Journal of Law & Commerce 181-202 (2005/2006).
Professor Brand attended the meeting of the Secretary of State’s Advisory Committee on Private International Law in Washington, D.C., on October 19-20.
Professor Brand spoke on “Declining jurisdiction: recent developments in the US, the EU, and at the Hague Conference on Private International Law” at the International Law Weekend in New York on October 26-28, sponsored by the American Branch of the International Law Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
