Anne W. Bauer

Professor Bauer teaches and writes in the area of federal income tax law, with a focus on tax policy and administration.

Professor Bauer began her career as a docket attorney in the Washington, DC field office of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, where she represented the IRS before the United States Tax Court.  From 2011-2013, Professor Bauer served as an Attorney Advisor in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel National Office, where she specialized in the taxation of passthrough entities.  Most recently, Professor Bauer practiced with the Employee Benefits group at K&L Gates, LLC in Pittsburgh. 

Professor Bauer earned her LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center and holds a JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she served as the Editor in Chief of the Pittsburgh Tax Review.  Professor Bauer received a BA in Philosophy from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
