JURIST - Paper Chase: Britain demands answers from US on CIA 'ghost flights'

[JURIST Europe] British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw [official profile] says he has written a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice [official profile], on behalf of EU nations [JURIST report], questioning the landing of CIA planes in nineteen airports [Guardian report] in England and Scotland as well as in other European Union countries. Straw's letter came the same day as UK-based civil rights group Liberty [advocacy website] demanded [press release] that the British government investigate allegations that the US Central Intelligence Agency [official website] used British airports to transport suspects to countries that allow torture.
