Former Lebanese PM's son calls for international trial of assassins Alexis Unkovic at 11:53 AM ET [JURIST] The son of slain former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri [official website], Saad al-Hariri, has praised the findings of a UN investigation into the February 4 assassination of the former leader and 20 other people in Beirut [JURIST news archive] and called for an international trial to punish those responsible for his murder. The report [text] implicates Syrian officials in the assassination, and states that "top-ranked Syrian security officials", along with counterparts in Lebanon, must have granted approval of the assassination prior to its commission.
