BREAKING NEWS ~ UN nuclear watchdog, ElBaradei share 2005 Nobel Peace Prize

[JURIST] The International Atomic Energy Agency [official website; JURIST news archive] and Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei have been awarded the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize [official website], the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced this morning. The Committee cited the IAEA and its sometimes-embattled chief "for their efforts to prevent nuclear energy from being used for military purposes and to ensure that nuclear energy for peaceful purposes is used in the safest possible way".
