Court blocks Nader from Pennsylvania ballot

The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court blocked independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader from the state ballot Wednesday, ruling that he had significantly fallen short of the number of signatures necessary for inclusion. Noting that his court's "line-by-line review of individual signatures was both exhaustive and exhuasting" Commonwealth Court President Judge James Garner Colins held that of the 51,273 signatures that Nader's supporters had collected across the state, only 18,818 were valid, leaving his candidacy some 8000 short of the threshold of 25,697.
