Iran likely to suspend certain nuclear activities prior to UN meeting

Iran reached Tuesday a tentative agreement with UN diplomats to suspend some of its nuclear activities that have raised suspicions in the international community ahead of a International Atomic Energy Agency meeting next Monday. Iran caused concern last week when it confirmed an IAEA report that the country had resumed attempts to refine uranium. According to anonymous UN sources, Hassan Rowhani, a top Iranian nuclear official, had approached IAEA chief Mohammed El Baradei with the possibility of a freeze on development. The IAEA Board of Governors is scheduled to meet Monday. The IAEA has more on Iran. AP has more.
