FBI joins investigation of bombing at Boston stem-cell laboratory

The FBI is helping to investigate an explosion at a stem-cell research laboratory near Boston that occurred early Thursday morning, an FBI spokesperson said Friday. The Boston Herald is reporting that the explosion was caused by a pipe bomb, although officials had discounted the possibility that it was a terrorist act. Amaranth Bio Inc., a company doing stem-cell research, had recently moved into the lab. Reuters has more.
