Paul Clement named acting US Solicitor General

The US Justice Department announced Monday that Paul D. Clement will serve as acting solicitor general, filling the office previously held by Theodore Olson, who resigned last week to enter private practice. Clement had been principal deputy solicitor general under Olson since February 2001 and is also an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. AP has more.
