Israel changes barrier route, but ignores ICJ ruling

Israeli officials said Monday that Israel's Defense Ministry has mapped out a new route for its West Bank separation barrier that will follow the internationally recognized cease-fire line of 1967 much more closely than originally planned. The decision to redraw the route complies with last month's Israeli Supreme Court order [PDF] to make the barrier less disruptive for Palestinians, but ignores the later non-binding International Court of Justice advisory opinion that the barrier is illegal and should be completely torn down.
