Berger says removing documents was "honest mistake"
Jeannie Shawl at 11:31 AM ET

Former national security adviser Sandy Berger, who is under criminal investigation for removing classified documents when preparing to testify before the 9/11 Commission, has said that he regrets the way he handled the documents and called the whole thing "an honest mistake." As previously reported on JURIST's Paper Chase, the Justice Department is investigating whether Berger committed a crime by removing copies of documents about the government's anti-terror efforts and notes that he took on those documents from the National Archives. AP has the full story.
