German appeals court upholds convictions in 1986 disco bombing

A German federal court today upheld the conviction of four for the 1986 bombing of a West Berlin nightclub against appeals by both prosecutors and defense attorneys in the case. A 2001 verdict by a Berlin court held that the bombing was planned by Libya's secret service and sentenced four to 12 to 14 years in prison. On appeal, prosecutors argued the sentences were too lenient and sought a retrial, while the defendants argued that the sentences were too severe. AP has more.
