Civilian defense contractors sued for abuses at Abu Ghraib prison
Pete at 10:40 PM ET

Human rights attorneys filed a racketeering lawsuit Wednesday against two civilian defense contractors, Titan Corporation, who provided translators to the US Army, and CACI International, who provided interrogators for the US Army. The suit accuses them of them of conspiring at the Abu Ghraib prison to torture, rape and kill Iraqi prisoners. A Titan spokesperson called the suit frivolous and stated that they have no control over how prisoners were handled. CACI called the suit “slanderous” and “malicious.” The suit calls for payment to the victims’ families and a ban on future government contracts with the two companies.
