Oregon lawyer remains material witness in Madrid bombing case
Chris Buell at 2:57 PM ET

Following up on a story reported Thursday in JURIST's Paper Chase, Oregon lawyer Brandon Mayfield remains a material witness in connection with the terrorist bombings in Madrid, despite being released Thursday after it was found that his fingerprints did not match those on a bag connected with the bombing. As a material witness, Mayfield has had several restrictions placed upon him, including having to receive permission from government officials to leave his home. The US District Court for Oregon has more on Mayfield's status. AP has more.
