Australia to ban same sex marriage, limit gay adoption

The Australian Prime Minister John Howard has pushed forward legislation today that would ban same sex marriage in Australia and would stop gay couples from adopting foreign children. The changes to the Marriage Act passed in 1961 appeared set to pass with support from the opposition Labor Party. The proposal would allow inheritance of a same sex partner's estate. AP has more.
