Former Chilean dictator Pinochet says he regrets nothing, denies killings
Bernard Hibbitts at 4:32 PM ET

From the anchor desk... Former Chilean President Augusto Pinochet, who turns 88 tomorrow, says in a TV interview to be broadcast tonight by WDLP-TV in Miami that he regrets nothing, that he never ordered any killings while the military was in power, and that far from seeking forgiveness for his actions in power, he deserves an apology from others. Pinochet has successfully avoided prosecution for years - after an unsuccessful attempt to extradite him from England while on a visit there failed, he returned to Chile voluntarily, but proceedings against him were eventually suspended on grounds that we was mentally unfit, and most recently that country's Supreme Court refused to hear a case which accused him of the 1976 murder of 10 Communist Party members.
