Professor
Allan Farnsworth [scroll] of
Columbia Law School passed away Monday at the age of 76. The
New York Law Journal, in a brief
report today, credits Farnsworth as "one of the nation's foremost authorities on contracts." His many publications include a multivolume treatise on contracts, more familiar to students in its best-selling
one-volume version. News of Farnsworth's passing came on the day of the
memorial service for former Columbia Law admissions dean James Milligan, who had served the law school for 25 years before his passing at age 56.
